I like action sci-fi with a touch of comedy and drama.

action, comedy (romance combined also makes for a good laugh, super giant killer robots (whichever that comes under), adventure, sci-fi (not so much ghost in the shell type sci-fi, just generally stuff like being in space but not going into the finer details is fine for me e.g. vandread), fighting, and puzzle (basically yugioh)

my fave is probably comedy, but now there are always at least a few comical moments incorporated into most manga's and animes.
