69 GTO

I am looking for new rear quarters along with a few other panels to restore my 69 GTO. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I can find these parts? I seem to only be able to find skins for the quarter panels, and not the full panel. Thank you.

Hey Phil:

I am almost completed the restoration of my 69 Baltimore Goat...and I spent a long time looking for NOS rear quarters for her...I did see a set on Ebay about a month ago...and they were going for about $2000 US each...way too rich for my budget.

I could not find a full quarter reproduction, so I had to settle for the replacement skin. Its a lot of welding, as you need to completely weld the quarter in place to ensure it is one piece of steel again...a wire feed welder works really good. Make sure you replace your outer wheel houses at the same time...I have yet to see them in good shape once a quarter is removed. There are plenty of good places to get repo parts for your GTO. I have been using The Parts Place in Illinois, Ames in New Hampshire, Year One in California, and Early Birds in Toronto. Ames and The Parts Place have great downloadable catologues online. Good Luck with the restoration...and if want some free advice, take your timetable and budget...and double it!
