Shure, why not? Manga is only a form of art style and can be easily learned. Hell, its not like all japanese people can draw manga anyway.

man, mangaka is juz like another word for a comic artist. if you're a real otaku, you'd prolly flame me for saying that FOR ME, comics are juz like werternized manga, and mangas are juz like japanese-ized comics. but if you're talking about an american drawing for a japanese manga, i think there are some. it's not like americans are deprived of the right to be a mangaka anywayz. they're free to be what they wanna be. and besides, take finalfantasy series and some other games for example, if you really try to look at it, the whole game's juz not created by pure japanese staffs. people who completed the game as a whole are not all japanese. it also goes with the help of other professional american/asian blooded people.

oh well..it's not like i'm saying that this is a universal fact or whatever you may call it. i'm juz stating my own opinion. if you don't like it then you shouldn't have bothered reading it. bye.

Manga is still belonging to the japanese public, and for that idiotic comment about how americans will suck in manga is just the prime example of how fashion can wash the brain.. Yes, there can be. Though it may be difficult.. I got an interview in which the reviewer said that my "AMERICANIZED" style was "amazing" and there is alot of economy for it but I needed more time to study the manga style and learn japanese. Noone should be afraid to use the classic westernized comic style for Japanese comics because they rush in amazement to our comics trying to find more techniques rather that than some cheap DBZ or Sailor Moon style. But it is not a secure career and it takes alot of work. Some go mad, if you want to do this then go ahead. You have to want it more than anything. But don't be mistaken, manga is their's and you have to play ball for it's industry.. Not telling y'all something you don't know already. Besides, thhe first American mangaka will be ME!! Mr.Manga!! HAHAH!! Good luck everyone. Don't be discouraged by anything and STOP LOOKING DOWN ON THE AMERICAN STYLE OF COMICS SINCE WE STARTED IT ALL ANYWAY!! For those who still think that the great legends like Kirby and such suck.. GET A LIFE, GET A PLANE TICKET AND LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE PLACES YOU GIVE SO MUCH PRAISE!! They are cool but only human, dog.. it's not that serious.

Look, I can't make any promises, but yes, I do believe that if you want to become a mangaka and are american, that it's possible, though you might take alot of criticism when you start out. You see, I already have two ideas for great mangas that my friends and some other people think are interesting and I believe I can become a mangaka and if I try hard enough, an idol..though, sadly, I don't weigh 88 pounds and am very short..I CAN DO IT, DARNIT!

yeah I think so. I mean, I'm not American (I'm Filipino) but I think everyone has the right to dream and to fulfill that dream. [ watch out for my kick-ass manga! ]
