I discovered a limitation in the functionality of the web site recently; I was hoping you could either fix this or offer some sort of workaround (other than calling in a reservation).

The time was 12:40am. The car I wanted was reserved until 12:30am. I wanted to use the car immediately, so I tried making the reservation from midnight to 4am, since I could not choose 12:30am. I also was worried that I would not be able to gain access to the car if I started the reservation at 1am. The web site would not allow me to make the reservation starting at midnight and gave me some error saying that the reservation is in the past or something like that.

I ended up doing the reservation over the phone which worked out fine (well, I had an issue with that, but I'll create another post for that one). Can you suggest anything that I could have done in order to make the online reservation go through?

did you try to make the reservation for midnight on that day, or midnight on the next day? It may have said the reservation was in the past because the zipcar system uses days that start at 12midnight -- if you wanted to make it for *this* evening, that would be tomorrow's midnight -- get it ?

It's a weird boundary condition, and i don't know how they could have made this clearer -- i remember discussing it with carl a while back, so it's a known issue. Can you think of a better way of presenting it?
