Intercollegiates Help

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Pete Gogol is committed to getting an OK (KU chapter) team to compete at the Intercollegiates next spring. What can the club do to help Pete and his team mates? What has OK done in the past? What do other clubs do?

I thought the easiest thing the club could do is to organize regular training sessions.

What do you suggest?

It seems that the intercollegiates are in Connecticut. It would be good if OK could get there or somewhere similar ahead of time for some training. Maybe there's a way that OK could help out financially (bake sale anyone?). Also, OKers might have or be able to get copies of maps that are decent training for the expected terrain. If nothing else, the team could get copies of maps to do armchair o'. I guess that someone should first figure out what exactly the terrain is like. I assume it won't be much like terrain available near town.
