Poe was not addicted to any drugs to my knowledge. but, he did have a drinking problem. due to the many unfortuneate twists of fate in his life, he would often go to the bar and drink a lot. Poe had one wife, his 1st cousin Virginia. he marries her even though they are first cousins and that he was twice her age(Poe was 26 and Virginia was 12, not yet 13) Virginia died in 1847 due to turberculosis and Poe never married again. he did court an old flame of his and was engaged to her, but the engagment was canceled. i'm sorry but i don't quite remember that girl's name. hope that helps. email me if you have any other questions
