I believe it's when the traffic lights are out at an intersection, that special blessing by which we allow others to go first instead of thinking just of ourselves.

Thanks, Emerald. You have truly en"light"ened me.

A serious answer, please?

Hello, Thomas.
I'll try to help you instead of monkeying around.

People never come across this phrase ("signal grace") unless they read translations of alleged private revelations. Here is an example:
"Those who will persevere in the recitation of My Rosary shall receive some signal grace ..."

The word "signal," when used as an adjective, just means "notably out of the ordinary." So, a "signal grace" is a "very extraordinary grace or gift."

God bless you.
John

John, thanks for the information. That is what I needed to know.

Yes a signal grace is a "very extraordinary grace or gift."

But from my experience, it is more. A signal grace is a physical manifestation of grace - a signal or sign that we might actually feel emotionally. WE NOTICE IT.

We exist as both spirit and flesh on this earth. The spiritual side is hidden or invisiable to us while we are on the earth in physical bodies (at death - physical, earthly death, that is, since our spirit lives forever and will one day reunite with a resurrected, transfigured perfect body meant for Heaven - our spirit separates from our flesh - our outer garment of the flesh drops off of us, so to speak.)

On earth, the flesh is the conduit to the invisible spirit. We pray with our flesh - mouths - but are talking in the spirit world. We eat Holy Communion with our mouths and stomachs but are feeding our spirit. We eat meat and vegetables to feed our flesh. Water on our flesh when we take a shower washes our flesh clean. Water on our flesh in the Holy Sacrament of Baptism washes our spirit clean.

On this earth, to get to our invisiable spirit we must first go through our flesh outer garment. The Sacraments do this - the Sacraments work on our spirit but must go through our flesh to reach our spirit.

A signal grace goes the other way - "grace" is of the invisiable, veiled spirit world and as such is not normally noticeable by us with our physical bodies. However, a signal grace IS noticeable by our physical bodies - we notice it in some way. This is very powerful and special and requires persistant prayer - praying the rosary every day or almost everyday for a year, for example, might cause one to experience a signal grace.

Bob, would you be able to say where you obtained the information you mentioned in the last paragraph?
Thanks. JFG
