Why so many Civics?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : zipcar : One Thread

Previously, of the three Zipcars closest to me, there was a Civic right behind my house and then, two blocks away, at BU Medical, two cars--one a Golf and one a Civic. Now the Golf (Gianno) is gone, and the three closest cars to me--including two at a single location--are all Civics. Frankly, I think this stinks--one of the things I like about Zipcar is variety, and I'm not sure why Zipcar would want to put two Civics right next to each other in the same BU Medical lot. I hope this is temporary, because I really don't like Civics--they're the least comfortable car for tall people.

Ah, thank goodness--Golf Gianno is back, and I'm hoping permanently.

Thanks for the tip, Christina. I would never have guessed that the Civic has that deficiency, as my 5'8" frame finds it to be a comfy road car (I have driven one on a 300 mile trip). My brother, who I just gave a Zipcar membership to, is 6', so I will warn him.

I'm not that tall (5'10"), so I fit in the Civics and enjoy driving them, but what does bother me is when shorter people drive them and then leave the seats pulled all the way forward. It makes it very uncomfortable when you go to climb into one and then suddenly realize it when the steering wheel is in your lap.

I wonder how a short person feels when finding the seat pushed all the way to the back after a tall user has used the car.

as a short person, I feel just fine, thank you--I'd far rather get in comfortably, arrange all my stuff, and then pull the seat forward and start essentially from scratch to adjust the height, depth, mirrors, wheel, etc.
