Poll- outlook for the next ten years Positive/Negative

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread

I am just performing my own mini-poll. In the next ten years do you think things will improve, stay the same, or get worse. Personally? Locally? Statewide? Nationally? Please answer with regard to: Morally? Financially? Educationally? Libertarily?

Personally, I think it will get better. DH and I are in our prime, earnings wise. DH's job is more secure than most. We have just bought 5 acres of land. Financially things have ALWAYS been tight, but there is a great deal we can do to improve raw land with very litle money. Our home has nearly doubled in value, and in 10 years or so we might be able to sell this house and build a smaller home with a tiny mortgage.

My dream has always been to farm, and I have started in my one-acre back yard. I should be able to take starts from by blackberries and transplant them onto the new property. Last year I could have sold 3 times as many berries as I produced, and I should be able to move the berries that I produce on the new land. Also, I have a hive that I would like to divide and start selling honey.

On the Government front, I think they are getting themselves into real trouble by spending so much. I think it will catch up to us as a nation when they are forced to put the interest rates up again and I think the unemployement rate will go up too, which means less taxes taken in.

I think we will see still more small businesss started up as the job market becomes more uncertain. I think we will have another recession.
