Does anyone here know what would cause corn to tassle early before getting to it's full height and then put on ears too soon?

It's been raining a lot here. Up until this year this plot was in grass. Do you think that could have dropped the mineral content?

Me too. Actually it seems one side of the garden is more affected than the other. I know when I tilled that side was even a different color and texture. Maybe I should do a soil test. This is the first year for that bed, It might not be a bad idea. Thanks Stan.

Dont think so, things dont usually happen that quick. When was your last soil test? Was it good for corn? Have you fertilized latey? Some fertilzeres can take away trace minerals from the plants. Hard to say, hope you get corn off of it though.
