greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

A normal thread begins with a question. Most of the time, the question is answered within a few posts, unfortunately, then everyone goes off on tangents.

Some of the threads have gone on and on for months.

If the subject of the discussion changes, would someonw please just start a NEW thread, so that those of us with limited time can keep up without having to read volume and volumes.

Thanks and God bless you all.

It is a good idea but I don't think that it will work. The problem with arguing faith is that it is so complicated and easy to get off on tangents. Everyone's time is limited but the tangents are just another part of the debate here. Also if someone starts a new thread people might not now what is going on. But I agree that we should try to make an effort not to get off on tangents.

That's a good idea, but hard to accomplish. When 'debating' about doctrines (i.e. purgatory) it leads to other topics like 'who has the right bible' or 'what is the true church' or 'sola scriptura' etc.
