SAL ACL HS crossings with the GS&F

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

I am modeling in H-O Scale the Suwanee River Route, commonly known as the GS&F Railway. THis hugh 13X25 foot "end to end" operational layout will be modeled from 1965-1982 respectively, prototypically before the NS merger with the SR; featuring Macon to Valdosta to Palatka thus crossing the SAL in Cordele, SCL/ACL in Tifton, ACL in Valdosta and the SAL in Lake City respectively. I would like to know what year the CSX predecessors, namely the SAL ACL or SCL began placing concrete ties on their lines through these cities mentioned above. Did they lay any before 1982? I would appreciate any expert comments. Thanks.
