All-in wonder tv capture to Burn on VCD/CDR

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I been capturing some TV from my (All-in-wonder 9000 pro)card which puts in MPEG4(.vcr). It lets me import into MPEG2(this done its library module). But, when I burn to a SVCD it doesn't play in DVD player(Which is VCD/SVCD compliant-Samsung 711). I have tried to encode it to MPEG1 using TMPGEnc but it does not recongnize its format. Does anyone have a All-in-wonder card and burns VCD/SVCD from its video?????? I have trying everything

I do this all the time. When using tmpgenc make sure you load the VideoCD template. Also another possibility is the burning program you use might be screwing with it. By the way, this card using MMC 7.1 or higher captures directly into VCD format with great results. Remember that re-encoding will only degrade quality of the video...

I'm not familiar with term MMC. If you mean capture to vcd template I think I have done that, but not sure. In every format it won't play or burn using Nero 5.5. Help me please.

What you are doing is never going to work. If you have described correctly what you have done, you are capturing in MPEG-4 format and thinking that the library is magically converting it to MPEG-2. You need to set up MMC to capture using the SVCD template, which is available with versions of MMC starting with version 7.7. If you can't find the SVCD template, capture in MPEG-2 format with a video bit rate less than 2600 Kbps and an audio bit rate of 224. http://www.vcdhelp.com has some guides on capturing. Finally, do NOT use the VCD template to capture unless you want to make VCD.
