I will be attending the Bishop's Council beginning Sunday evening. What should I expect to learn and see?

Learn this...never forget the bottom line! Well, you will learn that this is the season that we as a people find ourselves over-charged for hotel rooms! There will be great discussions within the lobby upon subjects ranging from the manditory retirement law which is to become effective in 2004, and possibly which bishops will go to which districts. And here is my favorite, who will be elected as general officers and bishops. The Strategic Planning Committee will present a summary of its findings in dealing with the church's strategic plan. The lobby will be a hotbed of action due to this being the year before the General Conference! I would encourage you to sit in on some of the sessions of the various commissions as they report to the General Board. Additionally, attend the worship service on Tuesday! It is always good to remember the "bottom line" while attending a church meeting. For us, it is the lifting the "name of Jesus" high over all!
