VCD to CD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I own VCD karaoke disks. From time to time I would like to ply the karaoke songs in my car's CD-ROM. So I would like to find out how does one extract the sound file from a VCD file and burn the sound file only on an audio CD.

Go to the MPEGAV directory and look for the *.DAT files. Copy those to your hard disk. Demux (demultiplex) them into separate audio and video files using something like TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net). The audio file can be coverted to WAV format with BeSweet (http://www.doom9.net in the Downloads section) and your can burn an audio CD with the WAV file. You'll need an audio editor if you want to split the WAV file into separate tracks.
