I have a problem with my Zenith DVD2200C recently. It only plays CD, and no more DVD or VCD. Whenever I insert DVD or VCD, the screen shows 'disc error' and disc is rejected. Anyone have the same problem or can tell me how to fix it. Do I need to buy some Laser head cleaner? Thank you for any response in advance.

DVD and VCD use a special kind of laser for playback that's different than audio CD, so you did well to suspect your laser. You could try a cleaner, but if it doesn't work, you're either going to have to buy another player or repair your Zenith. I'd suggest buying another player. http://www.vcdhelp.com lists players and what support what formats, which might be of interest to you.

Thank you very much for your response. I will try to clean it first as you suggested. But does DVD player have two laser head, one for DVD, VCD and one for CD, or it has only one special head for all? It can not explain the problem if it has only one head, as it does play CD?

I have an RCA-3000 HTS and have recently experianced the same problem.I tried a cleaner but did'nt work.I'm going to assume this happens to all brands so the answer you recieved of buying another sounds no good to me,I want to know how to prevent this.

This is a question. My Zenith DVB313C DVD player stoped playing video. I think I messed something up when I was playing around with the setup screen (using the remote) and now I can't fix it because I can't see anything on the screen.
