**HELP** Locked files on Olympus Camera

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

It always happens when you are on holiday.....

Using a pcmcia/smartmedia adaptor in my laptop, I transferred the images from my Olympus C830L by simply moving the card from camera to the laptop

First transfer and everything was fine

Day two and then problems, the card was not recognised on the laptop and when moved back to the camera, the C830L shows a red "!" icon on a blue screen with what looks like an axa / arrow / file deletion icon

The same on Day three and I was running out of cards

I can't find the manual for the camera, so any help on this would be appreciated

is all lost ?

Check here for more help! http://www.marshost.com/~rashmun/ If the card you may need a program to recover. Be careful removeing cards before transfer is complete. Usually have to wait a min. or two after the transfer stops, not done transfering even thou computer says done.
