I was wondering if someone could help me with the writing style of poe. Did he use alot of symbolism,irony,descriptive? Some thing to that affect. It would help alot if you could do it on the bells,the raven,and annabel lee. I'm writing a term paper and I need some help. Thanks!

From what I see, his literary works shows a dark symbolism that in a way connects to events that have occured in his life or his current emotions. That's a wild guess though.

the writing style is really dark, but it realtes to his life. poe never wrote anything that he didn't have some sort of experience with. for example: he experienced great sorrow and remorse, which shows in a lot of his works.

Looking throughout his life with his parents dieing at the age of two and then having to live with a stranger. Then later getting married to his first cousin who dies later beacuse of sickness. All of that explains why his work was so revovled around death dreams and far out there thoughts.
