If people would obey their religion that is centered on God's will, then you wouldn't be talking about misery and murder and war, now would you?

It is your common everyday human being that is responsible for the evil doings, humans just don't obey God. Some try to obey.

I think religion is for weak people who need something(one) to blame if things arent the way they want it to be.

I believe that religion is weakness.

Damn you sinners.

The Bible declares, "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Then it adds, "For all have sinned." These two verses place everyone under the sentence of eternal death.

So we will all meet again sinners

I can see you qestioning people having a belief in God since much of our faith is blind. There are many things we don't know for sure. But there are FACTS that support what we believe. These facts are just as real and as much a part of history as World War I and World War II.

As for wondering why there are people starving or suffering around the world. You can't blame that on God. He has provided us with the means to solve all of our problems. If people followed his teachings and acted how he would act, we would be able to make sure no one goes without things they need. As long as we have 18 year old kids getting $90 million dollar shoe contracts, people will starve. It is not God's fault, rather the fault of a society that has it's priorities so far out of wack.

Natural disasters such as floods and tornados are just a part of the place we live. Remember, we do not believe that this is paradise. We realize that people will suffer and experience pain in many forms. We do not blame it on God.

I hope that you can find faith and find a way to believe inspite of not having all of the answers. That is the true challenge of believing. To not believe, might in fact be the easier more human thing to do.

God Bless

We have religion because we can think outside of ourselves. We question, who made us and why are we here. Most people attribute it to God. God has given us these gifts and I believe wants us to caretake them and be stewards of His Earth. I think it is only right to be try to be grateful and love God for making us, and living the way he would want us to live. Wars start because of man's intolerance and selfishness. Anyone who unjustly hurts someone because of religion is doing so because he or she has a distorted picture of God.

bobbejaan booy,

define religion -specifically...

-- Daniel Hawkenberry (dlm@catholic.org), May 27, 2003.

Hi bobbejaan booy.

Look, we all suffer and experience things that we consider to be bad. We can look at our world and decide that it is a hopeless place of doom. We can look at life as a mere insignificant speck of dust in a timeless vacuum of randomness. We can look at the end of our existence and stare death in the face when our miserable lives are snuffed out.

Or, you can change your entire spirit and live knowing that God has it planned out for us who have faith in Christ. Read what the Bible teaches us about God's grace and how we can have eternal life. If you can this, you WILL have a new meaning to everything in this world. You will begin to understand those things that are significant and those that are not worth our thoughts or concerns. When you can discover the truth in what is right or wrong, your whole outlook in living will change. Study the Word of God. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt about religion. We are not insects. We have a purpose for living. We will be in Heaven with God.

This little write-up won't answer your every depth of your question, but it is a small start. What in the world can you do about the starving people of the world? Should I pickup a rifle and go over there and put an end to the evil that thrives? Sometimes things can be overwhelming, so don't let those things deflate your spirit.

Build your faith in Jesus and you shall find joy. Try it.

And for the record - you are not supposed to use multiple names and e- mail addresses, bobbe.

Maybe the bible is just a huge law made by a man not a god to keep people under control and not do bad thing cause if they do they will have to spend eternity in hell and that is what most people are afraid of.

Then again ... maybe not.
In fact ... assuredly not.
