We are developing an applications that uses Oracle dataBase. Heavy Processing is done in a very short span of time ,say in three days. In Rest of the days very few entries are added. but these entries are also very critical. As Archive and no archive is not completely suitable for our application, we are planning to run the database in both the modes. Normally we will Run the Database in Archive mode but just before and after heavy processing, we will take cold OS backup. Does this method has any limitations or practical problems. Suggestion and Scripts are most welcome. please make a quick reply. wishes Arjun
