Fulton County officials discovered a computer error Monday that could have cost hundreds of property owners on their tax bills.

The county has started notifying homeowners of the mistake, which gave them higher property assessments, and said the problem would be fixed before they get this year’s tax bill.

But now, county tax officials may need to review property tax bills from last year and from 2001 to check for the same error.
