How do I know how much a gun is worth?

Hello, I have recieved a Remington 30 as a gift from an old freind adn I have no idea if this is the place to as, I hope I am not wasting your time. There are any number of price guides available at your local bookstore. BUT you have to figure the condition of the firearm (is it NRA excellent, good , fair, or what?). Also, WHICH model 30 do you have? One of my guides lists a model 30A at $450 in excellent condition, $300 in good condition, and a model 30S at $595 in excellent and $400 in good. Most price guides discuss the standards for grading a gun's condition. "excellent" and "good" aren't vague descriptions, they are very specific.

Check out your local library. There are many publications to aid in pricing fire arms. Start with Fijerstad(?)"blue Book of Gun Values" Good luck..........
