i would like to do a report about edgar allan poe, he is my favorite writer. I would like direct information about him and his death and how messed up his family and life really was. please. I would appreciate it greatly.

www.eapoe.org has details plus a good bibliography and links to other sources. knowingpoe/thinkport.org is a new interactive site that is very good. There is an A&E Biography episode on Poe perhaps available in vidoe from your library.

Aside from the interest in his life's tragedies perhaps few artists have had their art so extremely focussed and so transformed by their experiences as did Poe, even though he removed biography for magic suggestivity and dreamy symbolism.
