Divx is beter then WMP to whatch almost anything, but sometime you have no choice, if the file you whant to play is not suported by Divx then WMP will surely be able to play those file Ex WMP extension : ASF, MPG, MPEG, MOV and theres more. and theres also RM type but those are for Real Player.

I use bsplayer which supports subs as well as all aforementioned file types. It's really up to you what you wanna use though. Sometimes WMP will do the job just as well.

From my experiance, divx player does a much better job than Windows Media player. Windows Media Player just seems to choke on larger files.

use bsplayer. best of both worlds combined

haha. yeah, i use BSplayer for my .ogm files... don't know why I don't try it out for .avi. I use divx for those, and like it a lot. In fact, now I'm going to watch .avi on BSplayer, and see how I like it. My compy is cluttered with programs as it is. Why have some you don't need?

Actually, In my opinion, as long as you have the DivX codecs and the latest WMP, thats all you need to watch Anime. I have never come across something that DivX could play, that WMP couldn't. I happen to use WMP more, but that's just me, there is no real reason I do. I just am used to the interface i guess.

I use WMP for divx and anything else of that nature and everything works fine for me...unless its a realtime or quicktime file, then I use their respective players.

I don't even bother downloading realplayer and quicktime stuff, i can't stand it! Even if its exactly what I'm looking for.

I suggest Divx.
