smartmedia card locked

i was taking pictures with my olympus c2020z and my batteries went dead. didn't even notice it was happening until it was to late. they went dead while trying to write to the card. now i can't read the card in camera or computer. any way of unlocking the card to get to my pictures or should i give up and just format the card?

Answers

You could try and boot the card in an external reader if the camera wont recognize the card. Or try and use the software that cmae with the camera.

A last resort before reformatting the card to to see if a disk utility program such as Norton utilities is able to recover the data. Just connect the card to the computer and see if NU can open the drive.
