urban score O's/rogaines

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Based on Eric Saggars fountains of KC rogaine in July, 2001, OK will host a "Jayhawks on Parade Urban Orienteering" event Sat, May 31 in Lawrence. This will be a 3 hr score O using the Jayhawk statues around town as controls. If you want an entry form and more details, email me at: gmw@ku.edu. 1:25000 map.

Also, in Wichita, May 10th is a 2 hour scavenger hunt for their "Plane Crazy" statues. Instead of cows in Chicago, it's cartoon planes for the Air Capital of the World! Register between 12-1, starts at 1. Website (got in Thur night, could not on Fri, May 2) is http://aviationfest.com/crazy.html/ (or search "Wichita River Festival") Could run it, but controls are really spread out and the 2 hour limit would be even tough in a car. I plan to go and just run it and see how many I can get.
