dry skin..??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dairygoats : One Thread

I have two nigerian dwarf goats and they have a big problem with dry skin. Expecially on there ears it is at the tips and some on the sides. they have no hair in these spots and they are some what red. they also have bad dandroff on their back. My mother suggested that i put raw eggs in their grain but i dont think they will eat it and i dont know if it is good for them. can someone please tell me something that works on goat dry skin..??

Thank-You Ashley Thornton

Eggs would work for dogs, goats are not dogs and will not eat eggs. There are a number of reasons why the goats could have bald spots, including ringworm, poor nutrition (what are they eating?) or heavy worm loads, etc. Black oil sunflower seeds- available from a feed store, will do wonders for giving them a healthy coat, fed at the rate of a cup of seeds per goat twice a day.
