Uh, define "get". Poe was popular in feminine literary circles, wives of friends and aspiring poetesses who wanted a review and more. Several of them behaved as the typoical jealous groupie. but there is no record at all of Poe engaging in other than verbal coquetry usually on a poetic level.

So people who study his "record" in frustration start despising his "manhood" and find yet another reason to declare him crazy. Mrs. Clemm burned many of the not so innocent letters the groupies wrote him. Some started rumors out of their own disappointment and jealousy. The closest illicit affair with Mrs. Osgood seems a conscious play(supported by mrs. Poe) to make her wayward painter husband jealous. It all reads less innocent than some respectable melodrama of manners of the previouis century, and nothing at all like the torrid lives of Byron, Shelley or Baudelaire.

Okay, to start with this question is dumb. Get alot of women? Humm. But, yes he did. Many, let me correct myself, all of his wives died though. He had about four that I know of. His second to last wife, Virginia, died of phenomeoa, as did his original mother. She was related to him.
