"Carry that weight" refers to the weight of our karmic deeds, almost like we shall reap what we sow. True karma, though, is a learning we achieve through our deeds throughout our various lives. In other words, we may not directly pay for negative deeds except in the remorse we carry having done them.

it's both the name of a Beatles song and a recurring line through several Beatles' songs on the same album (Abbey Road). Here's just a few of the lyrics, and you'll see why they fit with not only the last episode, but Spike in general:

"Golden Slumbers (Lennon/McCartney) "

Once there was a way to get back homeward Once there was a way to get back home Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullabye

Golden slumbers fill your eyes Smiles awake you when you rise Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullabye

Once there was a way to get back homeward Once there was a way to get back home Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullabye

"Carry That Weight (Lennon/McCartney) "

Boy, you gotta carry that weight Carry that weight a long time Boy, you gotta carry that weight Carry that weight a long time

You Never Give Me Your Money (Reprise)(Lennon/McCartney) Note: not listed on album

I never give you my pillow I only send you my invitation And in the middle of the celebrations I break down

"Carry That Weight "

Boy, you gotta carry that weight Carry that weight a long time Boy, you gotta carry that weight Carry that weight a long time

"The End"

Oh yeah, all right Are you going to be in my dreams Tonight?

And in the end The love you take Is equal to the love you make.

i thought it was pretty obvious. you have to carry the weight of the knowloge of the events of bebop. all the emotion and everything that the ending gave you. you have to go own knowing what you know and how you deal with it is up to you. good show =)
