what is better direct connect or kazza?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both of them but Kazaa is bad. Anything is better than kazaa, trust me on this one. Kazaalite is not so bad - still horribly slow but at least there's no spyware to contend with. On the other hand I haven't used Direct Connect before so, who knows, it might be even worse. It would have to try really hard to manage that though!

Direct Connect is THE BEST P2P appllication in my opinion. Not only do you get complete files, but you can get entire series of stuff. Sure, it's not the greatest thing if you have a dialup, and alos if you don't have much to share as most hubs have a share limit to get into them. But if you can share 20+ GB of files, and you have a good connection, Direct Connect is the way to go. Consider using DC++ which allows you to connect to multiple hubs at once.

I have both and still use both. But i dont use both because there equally the same, Direct Conect is way way way better than Kazaa. its just that for music files kazaa is easier to use than dc, But Kazaa just sucks. Direct Connect is way better for vid files and pretty much anything else. I would use DC for music too but i cant open to two hubs at the same time, i could with DC++ but in my opinion dc is more stable than dc++. But who knows.

What about WinMX and iMesh, who knows anything about those?

Direct connect suxs becuase u practically have to beg for stuff. Direct connect is S#@T unless you find decent people.

If you dont have cable modem or up, direct connect sucks badly. Like the message above said you need to find nice people. I do refer kazaa

If the anime is relatively new and being fansubbed, try BitTorrent, one good site to try is www.animesuki.com But in terms of Kazaa vs Direct Connect, I use Kazaa more for downloading since you can get multiple connections at once, thus speeding up the process, but recently its been harder and harder to use Kazaa. Anyway, the best service I've used so far is BitTorrent, but you have to be quick about grabbing files b/c once its licensed, the source gets pulled.

Yes once it get liscensed MOST of them get pulled but there are some, or one that i can think of that is liscensed and still being fansubbed. :)

The answer is simple, if you got 56k, you'll hate em both cos' of your lack of speed and patience. If you got cable, then you'll like both. It's all about speed, heck I would use kazaa with spyware, virus and naked with a f..ken webcam if I could download with fast connection. If only they lowered price of cable...

winmx sucks. i still can't download any files with japanese letters in it. okay maybe it's my computer's problem. imesh i tried also, but couldn't find anything. hey anyone know about edonkey? it was good first i use it then a new patch came out i downloaded and installed it. then death came, everytime i open the program, it ate about 75% of my system resources. (and it was setted to auto start in window startups..) so i had to uncheck it for startup and restart and delete it. it was hell and a weird one... just wanna know if there's a solution to this. i know this is off topic but thanks.

Hey I don't get how to set up direct connect.. what does it mean by hub address?!

I still haven't tried DC or iMesh but I downloaded WinMX some days ago. It sucks, just as slow as Kazaa, probably because my school has their eyes on it as well and have severely limited the bandwith. It took forever to even find the eps I was looking for and gave me some Remotely queued nonsense for the rest of the time. I uninstalled it the very next day. So much for that! On the other hand, I was able to find a song I'd been looking for forever one- time so if you're really, really, really, really and I mean REALLY desperate you can try WinMX. Just don't be surprised if it sucks worse than Kazaa.

well i've had kazaa for FOREVER!!! and when i saw the chance to upgrade i did, and i am so unsatisfied now. it ate up a lot of mine like yashiro said, and now i don't know what to do. i LOVED kazaa before i uploaded--it was always fast with tons of sources. but i've tried winmx and it really sucks, i've tried grokster and bear share and several other freebies....none seem to be as good as that first kazaa i had was. if anyone knows of something better, lemme know!!! thanx. 'preciate it. :~)
