Well in the Tell Tale Heart its all about E.A.Poe and the old Man and his "evil eye". What I think is that the evil eye could be death or something els that is bothering him. In the poem it says for 8 nights he crept in and watched the old man and on the eighth night he killed him and burried him in a wall. im not sure how to put it all together I hope I have helped some.
