For the love of god, STOP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

I just know this is going to be ignored, but all you people who want to find episodes of something STOP ASKING. Please. This forum looks like shit because of you (and posts like the one I'm writing). I understand that you want to ask that but, seriously. We need to find a way to clean this place up.

USE KAZAA. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT, TOUGH. TAKE STEROIDS AND LEARN.

I know that most of this place is just posts begging for full episodes but some of us have 56 k and the crappiest computers ever. We can't stay online for 3 days straight just to download one stupid episode on kazaa

Not to mention the Kazaa episodes are usually crappy or don't work properly after all the days it takes you to dl. I thought you were going to say something sensible after "Stop asking" but if Kazaa is your solution maybe you just need to drown yourself or something.

I don't think the posts need to stop, but I do think that others should look to make sure their question is not a repost. After all, the Anime episode questions is probably the coolest part of this board.

Agreed. I too have a 56K modem and Kazaa often doesen't work for me. This is the best part of greenspun, that it is. But the questions ARE often repetative. To help people, I want over the old posts and added all of the websites along with a list of their content to my website. BTW, who runs this? Is there any way to pin notices to the top?

Yup, it's true that this forum is good because people help others to find all sorts of anime. I don't bother to use Kazaa because there are so many corrupt files, and also because when I download anime I want to make certain of its quality. Furthermore, some animes are lesser known and very difficult to find EVEN ON KAZAA. This is a good place to exchange anime whilst discussing it at the same time. If you don't want to read a thread in which someone is searching for anime, then don't bother to read it.

lol, i agree. this forum is a great place to help people find what they need, and also help u find what u need aswell. but dont forget, though many people ask for stuff that has already been asked for, i reckon quite a lot of the time is because they are new to this (id really dont want to think about people being so stupidly lazy that they cant type in these things into google)- to this board or just to anime in general, so i reckon its not such a big deal about repeated posts, as long as people learn to read what other people put up aswell.

as for kazaa, i never use it, mainly because my 56k disconnects fairly frequently, and the fact that the anime is usually low quality, some strange file format, things take forever to download, or just the fact that chances are ur downloading a virus. i would suggest internet sites for downloads, but ive noticed more and more of them have been disappearing, so what i can really only recommend are things like direct connect, irc, edonkey and other programs like that.

lastly, if ur still gonna use kazaa, get kazaa lite instead. kazaa has spyware

What if there was one huge post that dealt with these kind of things? Wouldn't that be easier and less space-consuming?

I know people need a place to ask these questions, I'm not stupid. I'm just saying, these topics eat up more than half the board.

kant, do u mean like an anime request thread, cos i think that would be a really good idea, and would leave this section free of all these requests

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2003

Problem is, it would get really, really, really, long and people would get tired of scrolling through all the posts to find what they wanted. Plus the lesser known title s would probably be totally ignored in the shuffle. Maybe there should be series request threads instead, e.g all the Inuyasha requests on one thread, all the Trigun stuff on another, Ranma, DBZ, etc, etc. That would save some space.
