I believe in this poem he tries to explain that he has seen things differently then others, he knows what it is like to be different, but then again different people get different feeling out this poem.

I think it's a cry out for help. He declares his loneliness and seems to be trapped by his own unique brilliance.

Poe doesnt write poetry that is self centered, he writes this poem begining about himself then he moves to how we all see things differently and after alot of thought from me and a few others this poem is probably about how in reality we're born alone and die alone, and the we cannot ever truly find soul-love, in which two can join totally as one... get what I mean... drop me an e-mail to discuss any of Poe's work
