PROJECTION WELDING OF M10 (N90694101)NUT WITH (CP-W 800)SEW 097-2-H340X MATERIAL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread

We have achieved a pretty good results with welding them together, but there is a poor penetration into the flat materials. The testing strength is OK. Acc.to the standard the nut is welded with materials with max 0.15%C. We are using the materials with 0.16%C and higher max 0.18%C. Could be problem with %C due to?

Has anyone some experiences with it?

Any material with higher carbon is difficult to weld. I think your problem is mostly due to the higher carbon percentage. For welding, you will have to reduce the weld time and increase the energy. Give a heavy pulse in short time.
