i've made a reservation for a weekend in May 23-25 using what was a golf i've noticed on the website that the car there is now a Focus i would specificcaly like to use a Golf or Jetta for that weekend as i'm going on a long trip

We don't handle specific member support issues on this forum, so I'll take this specific issue offline.

Whenever we make temporary or permanent changes to which car is parked at which location we try to inform any members whose reservations are affected. Sometimes a last-minute swap may be done too late to let you know, but we try to keep these to a minimum.

I'm not sure why you don't want the Focus Wagon for a long trip, it has room, though isn't a large car, handles fine, is comfortable, etc.

I've never had this happen, and I hope it never does. I find that the Civics are much more comfortable, efficient and safe for long drives, and I would be very annoyed if it was switched on me (especially for a smaller vehicle). I just made a bold statement with regard to late cancellations, but I now feel that if ZipCar swaps a car on us, we shouldn't be forced to drive it or pay the penalty. It's just common fairness.

Zipcar has that problem all the time they don't care about us that much in area where i live they had a golf parked for long time when I decided to take that golf for two days that I could drive to Conecticut to see my wife, golf was gone and what they put was Toyta Scion that was not very comfortble for me becouse scion eats to much gas not like golf.

To be fair, I complained about zipcar switching a car out on my neighborhood... Turns out the car that was removed was totaled in an accident. So they put another car in--but sometimes have to take whatever is immediately available in their fleet, at least temporarily. If you want a cheaper one for longer term, just ask-- I've been really impressed with how responsive zipcar is.
