Could someone indicate me the name of a software that can convert a movie in avi to svcd in a very small time (less than 5 hours for à 2 hours film)?

It depends on ur system alot, if ya have a really really fast memory (lets say... 1G Ram?), it'll really convert REALLY fast, but if urs are slow like 64MB, its quite slow u know...

CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder) can do a one pass encoding of AVI to SVCD in about 2-3 hours depending on your PC. You'll get better quality if you spend more time and do multiple passes (3 to 5) on the encoding though. CCE is not free either, so you'll either have to buy it or find it on a warez site. TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net) isn't free after the first 30 days, but if you have enough memory and a decent CPU, it should be able to encode your video in less than 5 hours.
