Does any know if Poe and Viginia had children? If not does anyone know why? Thank you!

Poe and Virginia had no children. (Neither his brother or sister ever married or had children.) Some people have speculated, against what little evidence we have, that they never consumated the marriage. Instead, it is more likely that nature just chose not to give them children early on, and after they had been married for about 5 or 6 years, Virginia contracted TB and was ill much of the time. In a way, I suppose having no children was a blessing of a kind. The extra mouths to feed would simply have pressed Poe's tenuous flow of money even more.

Poe's brother was William Henry Leonard Poe. His sister was Rosalie Poe. The brother was born before Edgar, the sister afterwards.
