Who is Lenore?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

Poe write a poem titled "Lenore" 2 years before he writes "The Raven." In Lenore, he talks about the young death of a girl he loved and he says "nevermore" As well, as in the Raven. I was wondering what the connection was between Poe and Lenore.

Virginia("Sissy") is likely not a Lenore. Some Lenore poems predate both Virginia and all came before her death. Virginia is probably addressed in "Eulalie" and "Ulalume"
