Im writing a paper on Edgar Allen Poe's death and its not easy to find information on it. What are some of the guesses of his death?

he could also have died from a medical condition, that made him dizzy and pass out, but most people just assumed he was drunk, or my personal favorite theory, a political gang, called ryan's boys were responsible for killing him, but if you are really interested you should read about what the doctor of church hospital said regarding the events of poe's last days before his death, he diddn't die in the hospital, but the accounts of the doctor were very strange.

He could have died because of a medical condition. People supposed that he would get drunk. He got like that because of the loss of his family.

He died because it was his time to go, maybe depression maybe murder (sp), it doesn't really matter how. It's just a mystery to twist peoples minds.

i am also doing a paper on edgar allan poe's death and all my looking has pointed me to death because of drinking because when they looked at his body the liver was the cause of death and drinking causes that. and yes they did find the body!

Poe died of severe trauma to the brain stem...they found him delirious on the streets of baltimore in 1849 (october). but if your doing a report on poe I sudjest you work on the strange circumstances that surround his burial as well as his death....the burried his bodie...he never had a tombstone until 15 years later a monument was donated, and poe's body was to be dug up... but they never found it...I assume the remains a private phillip Mosher rest next to Virgina Poe under the massive monument...but i'll leave it up to you to decide.

Nobody knows for sure ... he could have been wacked because he had various outstanding debts -- others said he passed out drunk and drowned in his own vomit. Whatever the case, Americans have something to be proud about in Poe ... he was an original and extremely extraordinary!

Current theory leans toward Rabies, with several medical associations in the past year endorsing it as the only theory that fits the bouts of delusion and lucidity. There are literally hundreds of websites about Poe and his death, though, and many other theories. Be sure to verify that the site you are reviewing is a sourced site so that the information you review is actually relevant. As on poster here already stated, there are more mysteries attached to Poe than just his death, so have fun researching!
