IBM Data Dictionary

greenspun.com : LUSENET : DBAzine : One Thread

We currently use the VERY old IBM Data Dictionary product. I read where IBM is going to discontinue this product. What other products do any of you folks use for IMS. I have not been able to find anything that supports IMS. We use it for generation of DBDs and data element / copybook functions. It would be nice to a product that would support IMS and DB2.

Thanks for the help!!

I can think of two repository products that could possibly be used to replace your IBM data dictionary. First up is ASG-Rochade from Allen Systems Group. It supports both IMS and DB2. More info available at http://www.asg.com/products/product_details.asp?id=50

The other product is the Advantage Repository from Computer Associates.

Good luck.
