He may have seemed like he had an obsession, but I don't think it's true. For your paper, just write about his stories that had to do with death. Try reading the Tall-Tale Heart, The Raven, and The Oblong Box (or was it The Oblong Crate?). Hope this helps you out.

Poe had no such obsession. It is a well known fact that Poe was an Opium addict due to his treatment during infancy and in his later years, thus making him think less clearly. Poe wrote about hose things because he was speaking of his experiences not his beliefs and also he was diusional. Thnx
