War for Peace

Who’s war is this?

After the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, none of the other countries could disagree with President Bush’s stance on those who harbor or support terrorists.

Here was one topic on which people of all colors and languages were in agreement; that the terrorists were bullies that needed to be stopped. Anybody that did not help stop the bullies was an enemy.

People who strongly disagreed on other issues experienced that rare occasion when they were agreeing. It was a new and pleasant feeling, labeled patriotism. It was actually just the universal love of peace.

Since peace is a universal virtue, we understand the unanimous approval of force to restore peace when it is broken. The 911 War became front-page news on September 11, but it was not the beginning of the war, nor the first battle. It was not the first blow, nor the first sucker punch from peace’s blind spot, but it was a huge battle (and victory) in a war which continues today.

That peace will require the sacrifice of more lives: Lives of our military personnel who willingly risk their own lives in order to protect and defend our lives. Lives of people unfortunate enough to have ties with peace’s enemy.

Sometimes only soldiers die in designated battlefields according to “normally accepted standards.” This does not apply to terrorists, who hold to no standards. Sometimes women, children, and innocent civilians die, like the people from all over the world who were killed on September 11.

We are now in danger of being attacked at home and killed by terrorists. Saddam Hussein is a terrorist, who has aligned himself with other terrorists in their war on peace.

Freedom has a flavor that only those who risk their lives for it can taste. America cannot be the land of the free if it is not the home of the brave. The United States is the most international country--we are a people from everywhere. If we share a universal love of peace—we must support the peace efforts of the war to defend it.

Well said Duane.

Nice to hear from you again Duane. I do agree with you.

My problem is with the pinheads, who will not answer the question about Saddam (Hitler lite as some call him). How can people say Saddam is not our problem, when we know what he has, and we know how ruthless he has already been?

Bill,

In this country anyway, the "pinheads" are the Liberal Democrats that don't want to be confused by FACTS... they just hate that Bush won the election and will do anything to try and make a problem for him.

Ok... I admit it.... I listen to Sean Hannity (www.hannity.com)... :-)

Robin;

I have to admit I have been Hanitized too. But then again, I didn't really need to be. As I drive, Neil Bortz,Bill O'reilly and Sean Hannity, are on the radio through out the day. So I have been totally immersed in Right Wing politics from the two libertarians and the conservative.

Here is another one, the "liberal democrats" who have been openly caught in lies or doublespeak. There is no accountability for it. Daschle - before the election, we need to back the president and stop Saddam. After the election, I see no real need to go to war Hilary - back the president, there is no need for war, we need to stop Saddam Pat Leahy - I will never filibuster, if one senator starts it, it makes all senators look ridiculous. Then he starts a filibuster Same for Mary Landrieu the senator from my state. She said it was a mistake on her campaign poster that she really didn't mean for it to say she would not filibuster.

ad nauseum!

I pray often that God will raise up some leaders in washington that are Godly, and are willing to do the right thing for God and Country. I was listening to Chuck Colson once. He spoke of Dan Quayle in glowing terms for his faith. If only quayle could speak eloquently.
