Was there a Willard Hotel in SF in the 1960's??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I am in desperate need of help. My father worked at a hotel in SF in the 60's or late 50's as a young man. Now, as an old man with some possible dementia he has gone missing (for 5 days). We know he bought a bus ticket to SF and are thinking that he is heading towards his past at that hotel (which I know doesn't exist any longer as the Willard). Anyone know where it was if it did exist, so that the police might better concentrate their efforts?? I have exhausted all leads on the web. The only references I find are from the early 1900's-can't find where there was a demolition or change of name. Thanks to all who may offer some insight.

In the 1930s, there was a hotel at the corner of Willard and McAllister called "Willard Hotel". In the 1982 Directory the site (2697 McAllister)is listed as the Willard Apartments.

Hope this helps.
