Epson 680, inferior print quality

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hi there

I own an Epson stylus 680. I have been refilling my cartridges for a while and everything worked fine. I must have refilled my cartridge about 4 times so far (both black and color). Recently the quality of my print has deteriorated substantially. I run the head cleaning utility several times and the nozzle check test was 100% ( there were no gaps or faint areas in my printout). Nevertheless every photo I printed came out looking terrible. Eventually I decided that I need to buy a new cartridge which I did. Unfortunately that didn't help... the Nozzle check is still 100% What could be the problem? Could it be that printer’s head is blocked (although if it were the nozzle check would have shown a problem) . Or could it be something else?..

Thank you!

I have the same printer and the same problem i think. But the problem there was before i decided to refill cartridge. My problem is this: the nozzle check is 100% but when i print to a low resolution (below 1440) i see white lines on my prints. So the print is not uniform and not good! why this? how can i solve it? i think that th difference may be this: when i print to a high resolution the ink bubble is little. so it flow fine. When i print in low resolution the ink bubble is greater and if the head is not totally clean perhaps the ink not flow properly.

may be. can you help me?
