Probs---vpplays.exe??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hello all. Having some probs playing VCD's and DVD's. I had some VCD's last fall that I thought were bad CD's: I kept trying to open them and got an error telling me I needed vpplayer.exe. I sent them back and got replacements. Today I tried them as well as some DVD's I borrowed from library and got the same message. Anyway, I found a link to the files I needed and got them, and the player (Sony Videopress Simulator) opens now when I put the disk in the drive but it says "#MS2005-No list to play Press Open. Open is however not usable (like when you try to click on "paste" when you haven't selected something to copy first). Any advice anyone could give me would be most appreciated. Thx--Joe

Hi....Joe

Yes...that Sony Videopress Simulator (vpplays.exe) you got is not the stand alone player...I means that player needed to build in into the VCD disc and need to associate with CDI player .... mostly you may need to put as autorun for VCD disc... so that once you insert the VCD disc and the player would automatically start playing the VCD...

why don't you try roxio VCD player?
