Transfering a VCD to my hard drive so I can play it without the disc

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have a movie on CD, that I can play on PowerDVD, but I want to know if I can somehow transfer it to my hard drive.

When I open the CD, I get the following folders, which also have the following items in them:

Cdi: Cdi_text.fnt Cdi_vcd.app Cdi_vcd.cfg

Ext: Lot_x.vcd Psd_x.vcd

Mpegav: Avseq01.dat

Vcd: Entries.vcd Info.vcd Lor.vcd Psd.vcd

Does anyone know how I can combine that together on the hard drive, so I can play the movie without needing the CD ?

use a program called fantom cd or nero burning rom to rip your disc to a fanthom drive it will just take a portion of your hard drive and designate it for tat cd. you could also se it for your games if you want

OR !!!!!!!!! you can just get VCD Gear and transfer the avseq01.dat (which is the movie file) file back to MPEG1, instead of any other bs HDD reserve proggz

Then just play whenever...
