Has anybody begun planning anything special for Easter? If so, would you please share your ideas here? Thanks!

"Easter"? Let me see, that would be a pagan spring festival in honor of the Old English goddess of spring, "Eastre" -- possibly another name for the middle eastern goddess "Ishtar".

Have we planned anything special for "Easter"? No, I can't say that we have. Why would we?

We do plan, though, to celebrate Resurrection Day, in honor of Christ's resurrection. So far we are in the initial stages of our planning, but if the church comes up with anything particularly creative I'll try to get back here and share the ideas.

P.S. Please don't be offended by the above. It was intended as harmless teasing -- but our too-easy use of a pagan name for our celebration of Christ's Resurrection IS something that does bother me.

Scott;

To celebrate the resurrection we will have a sunrise service and breakfast and extended worship.

For our worship service, we will use our video projector and show the crucifixion scene from the movie 'Jesus". When we get to the part of Peter running to the grave we will cut in with the chorus of Don Francisco's "he's alive". Then we will have congregational music, special music, the Lord's supper, prayer and a message.
