I am glad you have asked such a question that throughout the snetence you show such interest in the subject that i could not but resist to answer. As a child Poe was severely angered due to the fact that he was a student in a highschool where the teachers almost all entepeneures in the art of child mallesting. There is proof that Poe himself was mallested throughout his life weather hmped severely in the ass by his teacher or by his principle, this may have cause Poe to let out his hidden anger through his work. Poe also had anger inside of his disturbed mind because of the fact that he had a manefesting foot fetish, Poe loved eating Toe's but after his wife divorced him which is around the time he wrote the short story "The Black Cat", he had not more toe's to indulge in. This caused distress on Poe's penis and he could no longer get a rise. There is proof that Poe actually began to write erotica but could not finish his work because he became too horny while writing. Poe stuck to horror and kept his penis stuck in his pants. All of Poe's litterarure is due to his sexual unrest and his need for toes.

Sorry for the hogwash of the first responder who reveals more about himself than (he) ever could about Poe. You obviously need a good biography rather than the usual internet fare. Poe's loss of parents, loss of stepmother, difficulties with estranged stepfather, loss of brother, a lady died who was a literary mentor(Mrs. Standard) of course had their effect. His poetic proclivity and mind also set him apart("Alone"). He had school friends and wrote funny poems and favors. A very good student in various disciplines. You have to see how later education and adolescence developed as he set off on his own and finally fully into a lifelong literary career. What was that TV show recently that stated that all orphans have the need to excel and be apporved? Definitely in Poe's case and despite his own sharp judgment he was easily vulnerable to criticism himself. Very self-assured in what he knew were his strong points and aware of his faults.
