Peak Experience

greenspun.com : LUSENET : History & Theory of Psychology : One Thread

Who is the Psychologist that believed there were 7 levels of experience, ending with the highest level, the Peak Experience? I think he believed the human had to evolve into each level and very few ever reach the highest level, the Peak Experience.

It was Abraham Maslow. I think if you search the previous threads here, you'll find some things on him. He's written up in humanistic psychology books and in chapters in many textbooks.

You will find Maslow's classic article, "A theory of human motivation," available on-line at: http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Maslow/motivation.htm
