No, Poe didn't kill his wife Virginia who died of tuberculosis. However, Poe did feel somewhat guilty for his inability to provide Virginia with adequate medical care, a fact he felt led to an early death. Many of Poe's works written after Virginia's death reflect a man's sorrow for a lost love. However, THE RAVEN was written and published before the death of Poe's wife.

NO! He didn't kill his wife/cousin. She died of tuberculosis. That is about the time he wrote "The Raven", "Annabelle Lee", "For Annie" and many others. He loved her very much and would never do that.
